How to Trust in God With All Your Heart for Mental Health and Physical Healing

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 NKJV

Literally the word substance here means the title deed to those things you are hoping for, and praying for. Evidence of things not seen Yet. The word evidence here means confidence in the Greek. Faith has full confidence that you will see them at the right time.

The Bible inspired by the Holy Spirit tells us exactly how to get faith: “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”

In other words, start reading your Bible, even out loud, and your faith will blossom powerfully.

You can start in the book of John to get to know Jesus and His amazing love for you. Try to get a psalm and a chapter of Proverbs every day as well. Before you know it Jesus becomes a real person to you.

Remember there is another personage or being that fights against your faith constantly. He comes to you to steal, kill and destroy you any way he can. John 10:10

He often starts with deliberately putting doubts in your mind about God, His Word, His trustworthiness. Look how he does it in Genesis 3:1-6  while tempting Eve in the Garden of Eden:

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, Did God really say, You must not eat from any tree in the garden?

Eve responds we must not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the middle or touch it or we will die.

Then Satan says God knows when you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God knowing good and evil.

Of course you know what happened next! Do you see how Satan planted doubt in her mind about God’s word of warning to her? She stopped trusting (believing) God and that was her downfall. Then it was easy to do the dastardly deed!

The Bible warns in many places of satan prowling around looking for an opening to devour us. We are to be on guard at all times.

Keep feeding yourself on God’s Word and you will be protected from his lies, and your faith will grow healthy and strong. 


Now here’s something you may not have heard many people tell you about faith. I count myself very blessed to have had this experience. I’ll share it briefly here. To get the whole story go to Demon Possession at the Party

Very late one stormy night (I’m not making this up) a visitor to my home asked to use the powder room. While she was thus occupied I began to hear a German Shepherd growling loudly from the bathroom, even through the noise of the rain and thunder.

My brother went up to investigate and came down carrying her in his arms.

Many crazy and frightful things ensued in the next few hours. There were three other witnesses besides me. For my part, I tell you very truthfully that a very real and alive demon spoke to me, and I to it. The young woman was fully possessed which i know is a very rare condition in our Western culture, but true nonetheless. 

I saw her morph into this creature before my eyes. It distorted her face, voice, and body drastically.

After I recovered from that traumatizing experience I realized I was left with an amazing faith in the whole supernatural world. I wish everyone could see what I saw. You would all be believers!

So I always say my faith had an unfair advantage. But I would not miss that experience in my life for anything. It was pivotal to say the least.

I hope you will listen to the old YouTube and accept my experience as bedrock truth. Before my Lord and my God I wouldn’t dare to lie at all, let alone about this!

One last point I’d like to make about finding faith by seeing the dark side of the supernatural world. It makes complete sense to me:  since the evil ones exist, then, of course, the holy ones do as well. 

The Bible teaches us where these evil ones came from. They are the rebels.The ones who became jealous of Almighty God and wanted to be Him. Of course the creature can never be the Creator. The clay can never be the Potter.

But Lucifer’s jealousy burned hot, and he led a third of all the other angels into rebellion with him. God cast them out of heaven to the earth. Now they occupy the ‘second heaven’ and the earth. Don’t forget, I met one face to face. It’s very real. That’s my point. When you see witches, and other myriad occultists using dark power and serving their god with faith in him, you instinctively know in your heart, mind, and gut, that - if that is all real - how much more is our holy God, His Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit real!

Another strong point: I saw this demon go completely helpless at the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ! Completely under His power.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind. I pray you may have that same level of faith and even more!

Ok, now lets take a look at another foundation for your faith:

There were over 400 prophecies about the Lord God Jesus Christ in the Old Testament. The prophecies began in the year c2200 BC when God spoke to Adam, Eve, and the serpent about the One Who would come and crush Satan’s head, and he would only bruise His heel.  These prophecies continued until 430 BC with Malachi predicting the messenger who would be sent before Christ to prepare His way. This was John the Baptist. So these prophecies spanned 1770 years and were given by 16 different men. They all refer to the coming of the Messiah. Only one Man could possibly fulfill all of these prophesies. They were given for this very reason. So that men would not miss the Savior when He came.

Here are nine Bible scriptures that speak about growing faith to get you started:

1. Hebrews 11:6 – “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

Paul highlights the importance of faith and the need to diligently seek God.

2. Matthew 17:20 – “For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.’”

Jesus uses the mustard seed to illustrate that even small faith can grow and accomplish great things.

3. James 1:2-4 – “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

Faith is tested and grows through trials, resulting in spiritual maturity.

4. 2 Corinthians 5:7 – “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

Faith means trusting in God’s plan even when we cannot see or understand everything.

5. Mark 9:23-24 – “Everything is possible for one who believes.’ Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, ‘I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!’”

This passage shows that seeking God's help can lead to growth even when faith is weak.

6. 1 Peter 1:6-7 – “In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.”

Trials refine and strengthen faith, making it more valuable than anyt earthly thing.

7. Colossians 2:6-7 – “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”

Spiritual growth requires being rooted and established in Christ, which builds up faith.

8. Luke 17:5 – “The apostles said to the Lord, ‘Increase our faith!’”

Even the apostles who were with Jesus throughout His ministry felt they needed more faith! We’re in good company.

9. Ephesians 3:16-17 – “I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power.”

Paul’s prayer for believers is that we may be strengthened in our faith through the indwelling Holy Spirit of Christ. 


Finally I would tell you to go into a private place every morning and evening and speak to your Creator, Almighty God out loud.

Talk about whatever you are thinking about, concerned about. 

Ask Him to reveal Himself to you and increase your faith. He wants to be close to you and for you to have a wonderful, close relationship with Him!

And watch for His answers! I promise, they are coming!
